MFA recovery

Lost the phone that receives your verification codes? Use one of the backup codes you saved when multi-factor authentication was switched on. You sign in with that code, choose a phone to verify with, and finish with a new set of backup codes.

What you need

  • Your username.
  • One of the backup codes you saved when multi-factor authentication was switched on. Codes look like a7k3-q9m2, and each code works only once.

Multi-factor authentication is mandatory for portal accounts, so recovery always finishes with it switched back on.

Step 1 — Sign in with a backup code

  1. Open the Enterprise Portal and enter your username and password.
  2. At the authentication-code step, select My Device is Lost - Recover MFA, which sits just below the verify button.
  3. Enter your username and one unused backup code.
  4. Select Recover & Log in.

You are signed in on a temporary session and taken straight to setting up multi-factor authentication again.

Step 2 — Choose the phone to verify with

  • Use my registered phone sends a code to the number already on your account. Choose this when you still have the number, for example when you replaced the handset but kept the SIM.
  • Register a new phone is for when the number went with the lost device. This path asks for extra verification.

Step 3 — Register a new phone

Skip this step if you kept your registered number.

  • Pick your country code, enter the new number, then select Send verification code.
  • Your old number stays on the account until the new one is verified, so a mistyped number cannot lock you out.

Step 4 — Verify the code and save new backup codes

  • A 6-digit code is sent by SMS to the number you chose. Enter it and select Verify and continue.
  • If the code does not arrive, select Resend code to send another one.
  • Once the code is accepted, a fresh set of backup codes is shown. Copy them or download the .txt file — the continue button unlocks once you have done one of the two.
The new codes replace your old ones, and the list is shown only once. If you lose both your phone and your backup codes, support has to reset multi-factor authentication before you can sign in.

If you do not have a backup code

Contact us and let us know you have lost access to your multi-factor authentication device. Include the username you sign in with. Support can reset multi-factor authentication for your account once your identity is confirmed.
